This was a fun film. On this one we were doing the practical special effects specifically dealing with the creature effects. The Treewolf, was originally designed and being fabricated by Face Off alumni Roy Whooley. Some circumstances arose for him and we at Tolin FX acquired the duty to finish and flesh out the creature suit to completion. The Tree Wolf was a cool design and was fabricated out of L-200 foam and real tree bark. the vines were all rubber tubing and latex cover ropes that we then glue onto the beast. Then painted it up! Writer, Director Rick Prince had the fun job of performing the Tree Wolf. We also made some prop bodies for mutilation and carnage, some custom squib rigs using our Squib FX gear for all the good blood spray, as well as some animatronics for the Tree Wolf’s tail.
